Managing patient confidentiality on the phone

I’ve been thinking about how tricky it can be to manage patient confidentiality over the phone, especially during busy hours. I recently started using a simple script to ask patients for their information, ensuring I’m clear and respectful of their privacy. Has anyone else found a helpful way to navigate these conversations while keeping confidentiality a top priority?

And it’s definitely a balancing act! I like to remind myself that asking for info should feel more like a friendly chat than an interrogation. @mattG_76, have you tried giving patients a brief overview of why you need their info? It can make them more comfortable sharing.
